About

Growing up, we always had dogs in my home in Germany. I was playing with Hermann our St Bernard before I was able to walk. I wasn’t in school yet when Bessie, the Giant Schnauzer, came into our lives. My mum being active in our local animal welfare organisation, we often had rescue dogs staying with us before they found their forever homes. One of them was Mücke, the German Pointer. Our last family dog was Smoky, the crazy, sweet clown of a poodle, before us kids fled the nest.

I came to London 16 years ago and didn’t have a dog for a while. My sister’s Jack Russell, Higgins, who passed in February 2018, was a good friend whenever I went back home to visit my family in Germany. So is Satchmo, my mum's very sweet little Lhashipoo (that's what you get when you mix a Lhasa Apso x Shitzu and a Poodle).

In January 2019 Willow came into my life, my very own charming little rescue mongrel. I am clearly not biased when I say that she may just be the greatest dog who's ever lived.

My upbringing means that I grew up with an understanding of dogs, their communication, needs and behaviour. I have loved and I have lost my furry best friends and know how it feels when you care for a dog deeply and truly. I understand the worries a dog owner has when they have to leave their dog in the care of someone else and so I care for every dog with the same patience and love I show my own.

Why Dog-Auntie?

This one came about when one of my clients spoke to a friend who wasn't comfortable leaving her dog with a pet sitter and he told her "Sarah is not so much a pet-sitter. More like Miggy's favourite auntie." Word spread and it stuck :-)
